Blend true to its name, blends together not only different functions but also different aesthetics. A café, a bakery and co-work, Blend is designed to seamlessly transition from one use to another. A mélange of European minimalism and Indian maximalism we tried to interpret our idea of a truly ‘desi’ café. Aesthetically placed somewhere between the artisanal Italian cafes and Indian tradition of communal leisured chai sipping, the design of the café offers its patrons a blend of both worlds.

Teak veneers, rattan chairs and a small nook of Bhartiya baithak combined with raw concrete blocking, a coffee bar and biophilic trellis present to you a space that feels like a stroll in Europe but steeped in Indian familiarity.

The co-work, designed to be a flexible space to host a plethora of events ranging from ‘Diwali Pahaat’ to comedy nights. Dotted with wicker furniture and cushy sofas, a large amount of space of the co-work is made up of movable furniture. A small part of the co-work however has privy nooks that borrow their aesthetic from the café above.

The outdoors of the café, the hero of the project, features small nooks, a proverbial katta, a small coffee kiosk and loads of greenery with scalloped compound walls. With 3 spaces & 3 functions blending together, this café is its name personified.
