This family home for 2 generations and their pets, is an adaptive re-use of their old farmhouse. Originally designed with 3 rooms, a bedroom, hall and kitchen with a deck extending from the passage. The space is now re-purposed to be a family home with a double height living-kitchen-dining, 2 bedrooms, a family room, a study, a utility and a puja space. A small staircase leads to an expansive terrace above, which harkens to the deck.
The newly imagined home retains most of its predecessors architectural features, like the brick arches and the sloping roof. While the newly added spaces have a modern touch and are modeled in steel beams and columns. Skylights double up as wind scoops and draw in more air constantly ventilating this eclectic home. Natural light and wind play throughout the house eliminating the need for AC.
